The fee structure at the Gordon Harris Singing Studio is as follows:
Introductory Lesson
$72.00
"Try before you buy!"
Many prospective students like to invest in a one-off
consultation lesson first, to decide whether this is what they
are looking for, or to gain some valuable feedback from the
teacher about their present ability and what they might expect
after a period of regular lessons
There is no obligation to continue after the Introductory Lesson
The fee is payable at the time of the lesson.
Private (One-on-one) Singing Lessons
(10 x 30 minutes)
$33.00 per lesson
Once a student has decided to continue
with lessons, she/he is asked to commit to a ten-week block
(one term)
A discount of $30.00 applies if the full term’s fees are paid in advance
Longer lessons are available, and the fees are adjusted accordingly
Group Lessons (For up to 6 people)
(10 x 60 minutes)
From $11.00 per person
This option is available for a group of up to six friends who wish to learn together
It provides a degree of security for the shy ones or can be "just for fun"
It is expected that the group will be formed prior to contact with the studio
A discount applies if the full term’s fees are paid in advance
Duos (Learn with a friend)
(10 x 30 minutes)
$16.50 per person
This option is available for two friends who wish to learn together
It provides a degree of security for the shy ones or can be an economical option
A discount applies if the full term’s fees are paid in advance
Duration of lessons
Depending on the level of development of the student or the goals of the individual,
lessons of varying duration may be booked. It is recommended that beginning students commence
with a 30-minute lesson time each week and that the time be adjusted as technique and
vocal stamina develop.
As a general rule, students may book lessons for periods of 30 minutes, 45 minutes or
60 minutes. Fees are adjusted accordingly on a pro rata basis.
Workshops
We have the expertise to provide various types of presentations about the art of singing.
We can tailor-make any presentation to suit your needs. They can be of a general nature, or
they can be more specific.
Workshops can be designed to work on issues such as melody and pitch, breathing and
breath management, body alignment, registration or vocal problems such as troublesome
vibrato or unhealthy vocal habits. They can merely provide information, or they can be
designed to work with small groups or individuals in a practical context.
Topics which have previously been presented include the male adolescent voice; diseases and
disorders which affect the voice; the aging voice; performance anxiety; repertoire and
choral singing.
Workshops can be great fun and can be planned for beginners or more advanced singers.
Such presentations often inspire singers to set new goals or to continue their regular commitment
to the hobby they love.
